  ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION          
  A citizen of India who has passed B.A./B.Sc. degree examination of Gujarat University or any University in India or abroad recognised as equivalent through 10+2+3 pattern of education obtaining 45% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she has studied for 3 years is eligible for admission to B. Ed. Course provided
  
  a) He/She has studied at least any ONE of the following languages:
  
  (i) Gujarati
(ii) English
(iii) Sanskrit
(iv) Hindi		                    
  b) Any TWO of the following Electives:        
(i) History
(ii) Political Science
(iii) Sociology
(iv) Geography
(v) Economics
(vi) Philosophy

(ix) Chemistry
(x) Botany
(xi) Zoology
(xii) Geology
(xiii) Mathematics
(xiv) English

  Minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility in the case of SC/ST,
  Category-l and Physically Handicapped students shall be 45% in the   aggregate of 3 years of their degree course. 		 
  ALLOCATION OF SEATS
              
 
College shall admit all the candidates allotted by the Government of Gujarat through Common Entrance Test (CET) or any appropriate agency recognised by the Government of Gujarat.
  
  The college should get the selected candidates, both under Government quota and Management quota, within the last date fixed for admission.

The total intake of all B.Ed. Colleges shall be 100 and /or as fixed by government of Gujarat from time to time.

The total number of students in each college shall be so distributed so as to ensure that a minimum of 5 students in each except the subjects like Sanskrit, Geography, English, Hindi.

The students' ratio in Science and Arts disciplines shall be generally 50: 50. If sufficient number of candidates are not available in Science discipline such of seats shall be adjusted from Arts discipline in the ratio of 25:75 and ice-a-versa.

 
  COURSE DESCRIPTION
              
  The syllabus of the B.Ed. course is designed to provide the most in-demand skills and is updated regularly.

The B.Ed. course comprises of six papers to provide theoretical knowledge of the areas relating to education. Below is the title given of each paper along with nutshell of that paper.

  Paper – 1 Education in Emerging Indian Society.
  Paper comprises of concept of education, educational philosophy, educational objectives of secondary education with reference to NEP, Educational Thinkers, Value Education, Education and Indian Society, Indian culture, modernization, problems and solutions of present Indian society, teacher in emerging India.
  Paper – 2 Development of Learner and Teaching Learning Process.
  Paper comprises of nature of Educational Psychology, personality, adjustment, group behavior and motivation, learning and learner with special needs, importance of educational statistics and uses of central tendency and variability, concept and uses of percentile rank and correlation, concept of evaluation and measurement and tools of evaluation
  Paper – 3 Elements of Educational Management and Recent Trends in Education.

Paper comprises of educational management, organization and technology, educational leadership, decision making, communication and educational agencies, trends in teaching and learning, secondary education act, academics programs of the school.
Paper – 4 Methods of Teaching: (Gujarati, English, Mathematics, Economics)

Paper comprises of meaning and nature of subject, methods of teaching, teaching aids, psychological bases of teaching. (All these are differing from subject to subject).
Paper – 5 Methods of Teaching: (Hindi, Sanskrit, Science, Commerce, History)

Paper comprises of meaning and nature of subject, methods of teaching, teaching aids, psychological bases of teaching. (All these are differing from subject to subject).
Paper – 6 Special Field: (Student has to select any one)

a) Career Information in career Guidance.
Paper comprises of fundamentals of Guidance, studying the individual, information services, application of testing techniques, information services, organization of group – guidance programs.

b) Measurement and Evaluation in Education.
Paper comprises of the concept of evaluation process, specification of educational objectives in terms of learning outcomes in the context of bloom taxonomy, construction of teacher made test, construction and standardization of test, tools and techniques of evaluation, techniques, and statistical comparison.

c) Population Education.
Paper comprises of concept and need of population education, areas of learning in population situation, population explosion, population and quality of life, role of the few agencies in population education, population education in school.
Practical Part
Along with theoretical knowledge of Education, trainees have to perform actually in the classroom to develop few competencies and skills required to become a teacher. They have to use their theoretical knowledge in the classroom by using various methods of teaching, using teaching aids, evaluation of students, by performing cultural programs at school level. The practical part consists of 40 lessons, which are to be given in secondary school.
Extra curricular activities
As a part of B.Ed. program trainees have to submit various submissions such as Psychological tests, case study, teaching aids, blue-prints, text book evaluation, tutorials, blue print, test-items field work and various submissions were completed by the trainees.
With this trainees have to do prayer regularly in the beginning of the day. They have to also give a small talk on any relevant topic. The highlighting feature of this activity is that each trainee has to do this as his or her turn comes. This provides platform to trainees to gain confidence.
